Board approves consent agenda, pay adjustments, Highland Hills practice-field bid and policy updates

The New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation board approved several routine and action items in a single meeting, including the consent agenda, pay and salary adjustments, a Highland Hills practice-field contract and a second reading of policy updates.

The consent agenda, which trustees approved on a recorded roll call, included minutes from prior meetings, payroll and claims, transfers between education and operations funds, Prosser Career Education Center tuition approvals, a procurement agreement with Wilson Education Center, an agreement with Indiana State University for New Albany student placements, the aviation insurance renewal at Prosser and several other routine items.

Superintendent Dr. Travis Madison asked the board to approve pay and salary adjustments covering classified hourly staff, salaried managers, administrative interns and recommendations within the teacher bargaining group for 20252027; trustees approved the proposal on a 7-0 vote.

The board also approved a construction contract to address Highland Hills soccer and football practice needs, moving forward with a base bid from Dan Christiani Excavating of $712,399 for leveling, Bermuda sod and irrigation for a new practice area; trustees voted 7-0.

Finally, trustees completed a second reading and approval of a package of policy updates (12 policies noted); work continues on Policy 2623 (assessment), which the administration said will be returned when revisions are complete.

All recorded motions in these agenda items passed unanimously by roll call. No dissenting votes were recorded.
