School committee approves updated access and student-fundraising policies ahead of state deadline

The Mendon-Upton Regional School District school committee approved revised versions of two district policies: ECAB (access to buildings and grounds) and JJE (student fundraising activities).
The policy subcommittee (Speaker 8) said drafts for competency determination and graduation-requirement policies were posted for review and that the subcommittee planned a vote at the next meeting to meet a state filing deadline. Committee member Speaker 3 moved to approve the ECAB and revised JJE policies; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
The subcommittee noted the Dec. 31 deadline to submit certain policy changes to the state and recommended additional review time for larger policy changes.
What’s next: The committee will file the adopted policies per district procedures and the subcommittee will return with the competency-determination proposal for formal action.
