Pike County Fiscal Court renews multiple one‑year state leases for county facilities

Pike County Fiscal Court unanimously approved one‑year renewals of multiple leases with the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet for county facilities, County Judge Jones said during the meeting.

The court read and approved renewals including PR4471 for space at 36 Mingo Street (Phillips Courthouse), PR4387 for the Belfry Courthouse (Department for Health and Family Services) and PR5470 for space on the third floor of the Pike County Detention Center for probation and parole. The leases listed varying terms and costs: a $5,400 figure was cited for one renewal, $9,990 for Belfry space, $22,512 for juvenile justice space, $60,120 for probation and parole space and at least one no‑charge renewal for the Department of Military Affairs site. Judge Jones said another state lease for the Cole Hollow/Island Creek state police firing range was being renewed with no charge.

Judge Jones said the renewals are standard one‑year extensions. "This is a first reading," he said in related discussion of ordinance procedure; for the leases the court proceeded with motions and a roll‑call vote. Commissioner Atkins moved to approve the slate of renewals; Commissioner Scott seconded. The clerk recorded the four members present voting in favor.

The renewals were presented as administrative items required to keep facilities and service space in place for state agencies operating in the county. No motions to amend or remove individual leases were recorded in the meeting minutes.
