Public commenters raise incidents of racist language at Beaman Middle School and call for support for staff member

During the public comment period Juan Roman said he had seen instances of racially offensive writing on bathroom walls, posters and in emails at Beaman Middle School and urged teachers to address the use of racial slurs directly and age‑appropriately with students. He described the district’s instructional stance and said staff should not be indifferent when hearing offensive student conversations.

Several other members of the public addressed a district staff member referred to in the transcript as "Doctor V." Jennifer Craft, identifying herself as a grandparent, described positive interactions between her grandson and the staff member and urged the board and community to offer grace rather than contribute to a public smear campaign. Another commenter, Steven Chabock, raised concerns about related media coverage and voting registrations; comments were general and expressed frustration at public attention.
