Aberdeen council hears plan for 'Wolfline' student transit pilot with Northern State University

City manager Dave McNeil updated the council on a new student transportation pilot developed with Northern State University and local partners.
McNeil said the program, dubbed "Wolfline," is a pilot to provide a short transit run to help students with transportation needs for errands and campus activities. The initial service will run Tuesdays from about 4 to 5 p.m. Rideline will operate the runs; Student Government, Student Affairs and the university foundation will help fund the pilot. McNeil described the effort as a short-term, experimental service with potential to expand if demand grows.
A council member (Constable) named student leaders and advisers who helped design the pilot: Abia George, Gavin Wolman, Gunnar Larson, Mackenzie Turner and Jasmine Garcia, and advisers Lisonbee Koop, Chelsea Short and Sean Blackburn. The council thanked staff and the university partners for developing the pilot.
McNeil emphasized the project is a pilot and that schedule adjustments could occur based on demand. No formal vote was recorded; the council received the report and proceeded to other items.
