The council also adopted Resolution 2025-108, authorizing the safety service director to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for reconditioning and restoring aquatic features at Hiawatha Water Park; council members confirmed money had been set aside for the restoration and the resolution was adopted after a motion and second.
Earlier in the meeting, council discussed the purchase of a fire engine and agreed to give the fire engine resolution a second reading; because not all members were present to suspend rules for emergency adoption, the council scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to consider emergency passages and other pending items, including bond-related items and announced bond payments.
The meeting included procedural roll-call votes to excuse absent councilors; one absence was excused by majority vote while another was denied. The council adjourned after setting the special meeting and confirming agenda items.
