Mayor (speaker 2) and a police representative (speaker 9) discussed a past mediation outcome in which both sides had agreed to close off the alley with a fence; staff recommended reimplementing that prior agreement to reduce risk to children and property.
One resident, Assad Hamid, told the council he would pay to repair the fence. Council members said they would follow up with police and attempt to implement the previously agreed solution.
What happens next: City staff and police said they would investigate enforcement options and attempt to reimplement the fence closure agreed to in prior mediation. No construction contract or formal adoption of closure was recorded at the meeting.
