Visit Ogden presented its 2025 annual report and the organization’s strategic plan for 2026 at the Nov. 18 Weber County Commission meeting; commissioners voted to approve the report and plan.
Visit Ogden representative Mister Tolliver summarized 2025 results and the 2026 strategic approach. He said occupancy held “flat” year over year despite early-year federal travel disruptions, average daily rate rose about 6%, and visitor spending in 2024 was reported at $559,000,000 (sourced to the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute data cited during the presentation). Tolliver noted a discrepancy between lodging performance and transient room tax (TRT) collections—TRT was down about 9% year to date—and said the organization and county will analyze the discrepancy.
Tolliver highlighted in-market work: securing or supporting 55 group events that drew more than 40,000 attendees and drove roughly $20 million in economic impact to Weber County venues, venue improvements financed through TRT (a $20 million remodel at OEC), and new event initiatives tied to sports tourism and the run-up to the 2034 Winter Games. He described new audience-engagement tactics including an Ogden Wire podcast and AI-assisted transcription to expand searchable content.
Commissioners complimented Visit Ogden’s staff and moved to approve the report and plan as presented.
What happens next: Visit Ogden will implement the plan, prioritize shoulder-season events to offset government-travel downturns, and work with county staff to monitor TRT revenue and budget implications.
