Santaquin staff preview consent items and seek authorization to order replacement pump

During the Nov. 18 Santaquin City Council work session staff reviewed upcoming consent and capital items expected on the next regular meeting agenda. Items previewed included minutes and bills, an out-of-state training authorization for the library director, an appointment to the historic preservation committee, a public forum on building permits, and a resolution to set a passport-office fee schedule.
Staff also reviewed a recreation grant with Utah County (two projects: archery improvements and ball-field maintenance) and a professional services agreement to design a pressurized connection into the local ULS system. Separately, staff said a water-pump failure prompted an immediate procurement request: a replacement pump will be ordered to keep a spare on the shelf, then funded via a forthcoming budget amendment because there was insufficient time to include the purchase in a noticed budget hearing.
Staff emphasized the pump purchase lies within the mayor's spending authority but requested council authorization because no current capital repair line contained the appropriation; they will return with a budget amendment to formalize funding.
