Commissioner Jansen proposed implementing two pilot athletic fields using organic, regenerative maintenance practices without synthetic pesticides or herbicides and focused on staff training and a transition plan developed with a nonprofit partner. After questions about staffing, costs and timing, the Commission voted to forward the pilot to the city manager for council consideration, 7-0.
