The Dalton City Mayor and Council approved a $140,195.62 contract Nov. 17 to replace the metal roof on the Public Works Main Office Building with CGS LLC of Norcross, staff said.
Chad told council CGS was selected as the most responsive and competitive bidder through the RFP process; although CGS did not submit the lowest bid, its proposal was $943 higher than the lowest bid and included an additional eight years of workmanship warranty and an additional 10 years of weathertight warranty. Chad said the contract had been reviewed by the city attorney and recommended by the public works committee.
A motion to approve the contract was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
