Hallie, a Columbia County staff member, invited residents, business owners and community partners to a public review of the county's draft "foundations for the future" comprehensive plan on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Columbia County Exhibition Center in Grovetown.
"This is your opportunity to come and take a closer look at the draft, ask your questions, and share your final thoughts before it goes to the Board of Commissioners," Hallie said, encouraging anyone who cannot attend in person to use the link in the post caption to view and comment on the draft online.
County staff said the draft was developed after a three-phase engagement process that began in February. Hallie said the outreach included workshops, surveys and community events, and that "hundreds" of people participated and provided input that was incorporated into the draft plan.
The review session is positioned as a final public comment opportunity before staff forwards the plan to the Board of Commissioners for consideration. The county did not provide additional details about the next procedural steps or a Board meeting date in the announcement.
Those who cannot attend the Grovetown session can access the draft and submit feedback via the link the county posted with the announcement. Hallie closed the message with a thank-you to viewers for their participation and interest.
