The council passed Bill 8,725 (Odenton Town Center Master Plan amendments) 7–0 after no public testimony; the administration said the changes ease the comprehensive rezoning process in Region 5 ahead of a rezoning next year.
The Anne Arundel County Council voted unanimously Nov. 17 to adopt Bill 8,725, which makes amendments to the Odenton Town Center Master Plan designed to ease the comprehensive rezoning process for that area.
Ethan Hunt, speaking for the administration, said the bill "makes some changes to the Odenton Town Center Master Plan to ease the comprehensive rezoning process for this area in Region 5, which we'll be undertaking early next year." Mark Wildong, senior planner from the Office of Planning and Zoning, joined the administration at the table to answer questions.
The council opened a public hearing and no one signed up to testify. Madam Secretary then called the roll; the result was 7 in the affirmative, none in the negative, and Chair Hummer declared Bill 8,725 passed.
Council members did not expand further in the legislative session; the administration indicated the measure aligns the master plan and rezoning timeline for Region 5.
