Jackson County approves temporary construction easement for Bridge B2253 on 458th Avenue

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors authorized Nov. 18 the chair’s signature on a temporary construction easement with Buckeye Farms for Bridge B2253 on 458th Avenue to provide contractor staging, equipment access and to allow placement of riprap and regrading during construction.
County Engineer Jaden Czech described the easement as temporary and limited to construction activities; the property owner has signed the agreement and county staff recommended the chair sign the notarized document. Czech told the board the easement will expire after the project is complete.
"It's purely just it is temporary," Czech said while explaining the scope of the easement.
Supervisor Mike moved to approve the chair signature for the temporary construction easement, and the board seconded and approved the motion. The board also heard updates from county engineering staff that a recently poured bridge deck had its forms stripped and that crews are working on other bridges (including a 24th Street project). County staff noted upcoming DOT bid lettings for Channelworth and Bernard Grove concrete overlay with results expected later that morning.
What’s next: staff will obtain the chair’s signature and notarization on the easement document; construction activities will proceed per the project schedule and the easement will terminate when work is complete.
