Alpharetta approves IT renewals and Wi‑Fi upgrade totaling about $276,000

Alpharetta’s council approved three technology and service agreements on Nov. 17 aimed at improving municipal IT infrastructure and grant management.
The council unanimously authorized a purchase order of $118,353.50 to MGT Impact Solutions to assess and replace wireless access points across City Hall and other municipal buildings, IT Director Montgomery said. The vendor will perform a deeper assessment to determine the final number of access points, install new hardware and configure the network.
Separately, the council approved a renewal with Nova Coast Managed Services for $113,000 for access, asset management and vulnerability mitigation software. Staff said the increase reflects an announced price change and additional licenses needed as the city grows.
City staff also asked the council to approve a third‑party procurement through Carahsoft Technology Corporation to continue using ESIVIS’s Grants Network for $45,120. The software is used to research, track and audit grants, and staff said grants received last calendar year likely totaled near $500,000, making the software an investment with a measurable return for the city.
Each item was introduced by staff, opened to questions from council, had no public opposition and passed unanimously.
