The Town of Babylon Accessory Apartment Review Board approved multiple accessory‑apartment permits and a batch of renewals at its meeting on Sept. not specified.

Applicant Nicholas Colasaco, who gave his address as 147 Waldo Street, was sworn in and said the upstairs accessory apartment has two bedrooms and is currently occupied by his in‑laws. After the board reviewed submitted identification and utility/mortgage documentation, a motion to approve Colasaco's application carried unanimously; he was told to remove the sign and to expect his permit in a couple of weeks.

Zahir Abbas Merchant, of 79 Vermont Avenue, told the board his accessory apartment is a one‑bedroom unit on the first level and that it is currently unoccupied. The board moved and seconded Merchant's application and voted to approve it; Merchant was told to take down his sign and that his permit would arrive within weeks and renew in three years.

Following individual applications, the board read a series of renewals by affidavit (addresses read into the record). For each listed renewal, members moved and seconded approval and recorded unanimous 'aye' votes. The renewals covered multiple properties across West Babylon, North Babylon, Copiague and surrounding localities as read into the record.

All approved applicants and renewals were reminded of the town's three‑year renewal schedule and the town's authority to inspect and respond to complaints between renewals.
