The board approved a recommendation to buy a Rational combi oven for Germantown High School for up to $27,348.24 and approved winter coaching, Destination Imagination advising contracts and the consent agenda including teacher contracts and donations.
The Germantown School District Board of Education voted Nov. 18 to approve several operational purchases and personnel contracts, including a replacement Rational combi oven for Germantown High School and winter co‑curricular coaching contracts.
Jill Seefeld, director of food and nutrition, told the board the existing combi oven at Germantown High School is 14 years old and no longer worth repairing. She presented four quotes and recommended purchasing the oven through Fine Brothers with a cost not to exceed $27,348.24, to be funded from the food and nutrition budget. "The cost is not to exceed $27,348.24 and will be funded through the food nutrition department budget," Seefeld said. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the committee’s positive recommendation by voice vote.
During the full meeting the board also approved the consent agenda, which included approval of teacher contracts (the administration reported hiring Jamie Johnson for a Spanish position), and accepted several donations including PTA and community gifts that support field trips and school activities.
Doctor Castro asked the board to approve winter co‑curricular coaching and Destination Imagination advising contracts for Germantown High School and Kennedy Middle School and one hourly KMS advising position for the 2025–26 school year. The board moved and seconded the contracts and approved them by voice vote.
The board adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
