New Milford — Following presentations, the New Milford Board of Education moved through routine business and approved multiple committee recommendations, personnel appointments and policy updates before adjourning into a closed executive session to discuss personnel.
The board approved minutes and a consent slate of curriculum items (labeled C-25 series), finance and facilities recommendations (F-25 series), and a personnel slate (P-25 series). During the personnel vote board members responded to roll-call questions with recorded affirmative votes from a sequence of named members in the transcript.
The policy committee presented resolution PLL 25-26.4, which included the repeal of a COVID-era policy (1648.15); the board adopted the recommended policy changes on second reading.
Before adjourning to executive session, the board opened the meeting briefly to public comment and then voted to move into closed session for discussion of personnel. The motion for executive session cited state open meetings provisions and stated minutes of the executive session would be released when confidentiality no longer applied.
Key actions recorded in the meeting transcript include approval of the minutes (voice vote), committee approvals, formal roll-call approval of personnel items, finance/facilities approvals and policy adoption. The transcript shows the board taking the vote to adjourn into executive session with unanimous aye votes called by the chair.
