County outlines site logistics as Brazos County administration building remodel begins

County project manager and Flintco representatives briefed the court on construction staging, parking impacts and temporary access during the Brazos County Administration Building remodel; notice to proceed was issued and staff were asked to use the garage starting Nov. 24.
Trevor Lansdale, head of project management, told the court Flintco Construction received its notice to proceed the day before and that construction will immediately affect site access and parking.
Lansdale said a fenced construction area will occupy a portion of the Administration Building and IT Building parking lots; two yellow gates will remain open for pedestrian and vehicle access until areas are closed. The current front public entrance will be closed in the initial phase; a temporary sidewalk and alternate entry will be installed. Accessible parking in front of the building will be relocated to the lot currently used as a secure employee lot.
Lansdale asked employees working standard hours to shift parking to the county garage (second floor requested) beginning Monday, Nov. 24, with early- or late-shift workers allowed to use surface lots. He said Flintco and county project staff will meet weekly and provide regular updates and signage and that a registration link for garage parking will be distributed to staff.
Flintco representatives introduced themselves to the court (project manager Mark Holland and site superintendents Tanner Stepfield and Frank Reyna). County staff emphasized communication and weekly updates as construction progresses.
The presentation concluded with commissioners thanking the contractor team and encouraging clear communications to staff and the public as access points and parking change during the remodel.
