The Lenawee County Probate & Juvenile Court held a review hearing and ordered CTAC trauma assessments and bonding evaluations while keeping the children in the custody and care of the department.

The judge stated on the record, “The children will remain, under the care and custody of the department and the jurisdiction of the court in the next court period,” and described the current placement as “the safest and least restrictive under the circumstances.” The court also directed the caseworker to consult therapists for parenting‑time recommendations and said visitation should remain individual rather than joint until stability is shown.

Department counsel asked the court to order CTAC assessments to provide a bonding and trauma evaluation for structured parenting recommendations. The court agreed the evaluations would be useful and entered a directive that the agency make the necessary referrals and complete the CTAC assessments.

The court set the next review and pharmacy planning hearing for Feb. 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and noted that the child’s current placement will continue while parents work through case service plan requirements.

The order follows reports from the guardian ad litem and the foster care worker that the children have shown stabilization in their current placement but that parental barriers remain to immediate reunification. The hearing record shows the court’s decision is procedural and investigatory — the CTACs and required therapy progress notes will inform future parenting‑time decisions.
