Summary
The board adopted the 2025–26 District Improvement Plan and approved campus improvement and required turnaround/target/local improvement plans; administration will submit TAP/TIP/LIP plans to the Texas Education Agency for review.
The Duncanville Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the district—s 2025–26 improvement planning package, including the District Improvement Plan, campus improvement plans and required turnaround, targeted and local improvement plans.
Mr. Graham presented the district improvement plan, which aligns the district—s strategic priorities (student academic success; family and community connection; personnel professional development; fiscal stewardship) and sets three‑year performance objectives to be achieved by 2028. The board voted to approve the district plan as required by Texas Education Code §11.252.
Dr. April Wyatt described campus plans using SMART goals and the site‑based decision‑making processes that included teacher, parent and community input. The board approved the individual campus improvement plans for 2025–26.
Rosa Hernandez, the district—s designated DCSI (district coordinator of school improvement), explained state and federal accountability designations that require different plans. Hernandez said five campuses were assigned campus turnaround plans (TAP), one campus had a Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) and one campus had a Local Improvement Plan (LIP). She explained the exit criteria (earning a C or higher under state law and federal guidance) and described district supports: instructional walk cycles, data huddles, PLCs, coaching cycles with SustainED and monitoring site visits with Region 10 consultants. If approved, Hernandez will submit the TAP/TIP/LIP plans to the Texas Education Agency by the stated submission deadline; the board approved the plans, and staff will follow up with TEA review and implementation monitoring.
The board recorded electronic votes on these items during the meeting.
