Staff said the changes are intended to clarify language in the disciplinary packet (including signage that will reference cosmetology services as applicable) and to align disciplinary posting language with current practices. The motion referenced amendments to Title 16, California Code of Regulations, section 972 and asked staff to prepare modified text and notices for the public comment period. Monica called roll on the motion and recorded affirmative votes from board members present.
Board discussion earlier in the meeting covered related regulatory packages and the board's continuing work on apprenticeship, externs, remedial education and health-and-safety regulation efforts. Staff noted that additional regulation work will proceed when a new regulation specialist is hired.
The board's recorded action will proceed through the Office of Administrative Law review process following the 15-day comment period.
