Irmo council approves recycling cart purchase, appoints member, reschedules workshop

The Town of Irmo council took several routine actions on Nov. 18, approving purchases, an appointment, and a calendar change.

Recycling roll carts: Council approved a staff recommendation to purchase recycling carts and replacement parts for $6,751.39, aimed primarily at outfitting the new Pickley Station neighborhood and repairing existing carts with axle assemblies and hinge pins. "Replacement roll carts... 50 axle assemblies, 100 hinge pins for repairs of the existing cans," staff said, noting the part purchases are intended to supplement on-hand inventories. Staff advised residents to call town hall to request replacement carts so the town can document and track repairs.

Appointment to Board of Zoning Appeals: The council voted to appoint Brandon Mundy to fill one vacancy on the Board of Zoning Appeals; the term runs through March 2028. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call.

Calendar change: The council agreed to reschedule the December town-council workshop to Dec. 9 to avoid a conflict with the tree lighting. A separate bid to repair the town-hall sidewalk and install water fountains at Rawls Creek Park was deferred to the Dec. 9 work session at staff request.

All votes on the purchased carts, appointment, and schedule change were recorded by roll call as affirmative among members present. The meeting did not include an executive session.
