The Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety accepted monthly reports from the police and fire departments during its Nov. 19 meeting.
A police department representative presented October 2025 activity, reporting approximately 27,009 miles driven by patrol and 10,717 calls for service for the month. The representative reported 38 arrests, 49 citations, 340 warnings and 389 traffic stops; animal control logged 36 calls within city limits and took in 16 animals (15 dogs, 1 cat). The board moved to approve the police department's monthly report and voted in favor.
Fire Chief Miller summarized the October fire log, saying the department responded to 173 alarms in October, which included one structure fire, one vehicle fire, eight vegetation or trash fires, 11 false alarms, and 124 first-responder medical calls. Chief Miller also reported two extrications, one hazmat/oil-dry incident and several service calls, power-line incidents and motor vehicle accidents.
The board recorded approval of both departmental reports. No public comments were received during the reports portion of the meeting. The accepted reports will be filed with the city and form the basis for any operational or budgetary follow-up by the respective departments.
