EOAB recommends Castle Valley councilor Pamela to county commission

The Economic Opportunity Advisory Board voted Nov. 19 to recommend Pamela, a town councilor from Castle Valley, to the county commission to fill the board's municipal representative seat.
Pamela introduced herself as a Castle Valley resident and town councilor and described a background in municipal/corporate law. Forst moved the recommendation; Erin seconded. The board adopted the recommendation by voice vote.
Board members said a municipal representative from Castle Valley would help broaden geographic perspectives beyond Moab. "I live in Castle Valley, and I'm on the town council," Pamela said in introducing herself, adding she wants to "put my 2¢ in" where helpful. Members emphasized the board is advisory: "It will go now to the commission, and they have to make any final appointments," the moderator said after the vote.
The board also noted bylaws recently approved (effective Dec. 31) that shaped outreach for the municipal seat; members explained the bylaws were intentionally not rigidly limited to Castle Valley so the seat can be filled if no candidate from that specific municipality is available.
The recommendation will be transmitted to the county commission, which has the authority to make the final appointment.
