The Lake County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation recognizing a week in November 2025 as California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Week and praised county clerk staff for their role in recordkeeping and public access.
Unidentified Speaker 4 read the proclamation, which highlighted clerks’ legally mandated duties to preserve public records and maintain impartial, open government and noted the California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Association and the California State Association of Counties. The proclamation says clerks’ work is a “time honored and vital part of local government” across California’s 58 counties and concludes, “Pass and adopted this November 2025.”
Board members used the item to publicly thank Johanna, named in the discussion, for her work. Unidentified Speaker 2 described the clerk as “an integral part of what we do every single day,” and Unidentified Speaker 1 told Johanna, “You help me with the specific situations when it comes to, my town halls and whatnot,” citing day-to-day assistance to supervisors.
During the public comment period, Unidentified Speaker 5 addressed the board and praised the clerk’s service to residents: “I truly appreciate your service, your professionalism, your promptness … you make it much simpler, easier to transact with our local government.” The board paused briefly to take a group photo to mark the proclamation.
The proclamation is an official recognition by the board; no separate ordinance or funding decision was made. The board adopted the proclamation at the meeting and moved on to the next agenda item.
