Hearing Officer Mark Lloyd continued a City of Franklin building matter to Jan. 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. after the city’s senior planner said progress stalled when a potential purchaser failed to follow up.
Alex Kjetil, senior planner for the City of Franklin, told the hearing on Nov. 19 that the case had not advanced since the last meeting because a prospective buyer, identified in the record as Mr. Barger, did not confirm an October purchase date. "He never did let us know... We still have not heard from him," Kjetil said, noting the city still needs to complete contract and title work before moving forward.
Kjetil asked for a continuance of at least a couple of months to complete necessary legal steps and said the city’s preferred timetable would target demolition in early spring so preparatory tasks can be finished.
In response, Hearing Officer Mark Lloyd confirmed scheduling and announced the continuance: "So we will show this matter, continued, till 01/21/2026 at 02:00." The hearing record indicates there were no additional matters for December and the session was recessed.
The continuance postpones formal action while staff pursues contract, title and demolition planning. No formal vote was recorded in the hearing transcript; the continuation was entered by the hearing officer on the record. The matter will return to the hearing docket on Jan. 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
