The Harrisville Board of Canvassers unanimously adopted Resolution 25‑17 to certify the municipal general election results after receiving a canvas report from Weber County.
A Weber County election official presenting the canvas said the city had 3,384 registered voters and that 1,431 ballots were counted, representing "about 42% voter turnout, which is really good for us." The official reported five ballots were rejected: four were received past the deadline and one was returned unsigned. "The county does have a process" to attempt to contact an unsigned voter, the presenter said, but the late ballots cannot be counted under state rules.
The presentation included the certified winners provided by the county. The official said Roger Schuman won the mayoral race with 1,117 votes. Two city council seats were filled for four‑year terms beginning in January by Grama Montgomery and Jason Cathey.
At the board meeting there was brief procedural confusion over the resolution number (initially referenced as 25‑7 and then corrected to 25‑17). A motion to adopt the municipal general election canvas was made, seconded and put to a roll call. Board members Fasting, Foster, Christensen, Wilnerson and Weiss were each recorded as voting "yes." The motion carried and the resolution was adopted.
The board opened a three‑minute public comment period limited to canvass matters but no public comments were recorded in the transcript. Members then moved to adjourn; the board recessed until 07:00 for the Harrisville City Council meeting.
