Board approves EMS mutual-aid amendments and awards EMS station HVAC bid

Mutual aid: Staff described a name and dispatch change for Patrick County’s EMS provider (DBA adjustments and operations from the hospital). The board authorized the mutual-aid agreement with amendments to add the county administrator’s signature from the partner county, to route the agreement to county attorneys for legal review, and to authorize staff signatures as needed. The board emphasized that insurance coverage and operational terms remain in place; supervisors requested identification of the ambulance services’ medical director/OMD as a follow-up item.
Procurement: The board reviewed three bids to replace or repair the station’s ventilation/flu system and awarded the contract to Pierce Heating & Air on best-value scoring. Members confirmed the bid was a fixed-price scope including labor, materials, clean-up and disposal.
What happens next: county attorney will review mutual-aid paperwork, administrators will sign the agreement, and public-works procurement staff will finalize the Pierce contract and schedule work at EMS Station 1.
