Paul Haigley, a resident of 2073 Hall Street S.E., used the meeting's public-comment period to urge residents who support a proposed development to make their views known to commissioners.
Haigley said he had attended listening sessions and a town hall and praised the openness of the process. He told the commission he had spoken with roughly 100 people and said, "There's 5 people that I know that are against it," and described that as roughly a 90-to-5 percent approval rate among the people he spoke with. He said he liked the concept plan and the timeline the commission is using and encouraged supporters to come to meetings and provide public comment.
"I love the concept plan. I think you guys did us really well by putting a timeline," Haigley said. He added that the council's openness and the public listening opportunities made him proud to live in the community and urged supporters to participate in the public process.
The facilitator closed public comment and adjourned the meeting.
