The Mineral Wells City Council approved Option 1 from consultant Black Dog as the citywide logo and brand mark.
A Black Dog representative presented three design options and explained rationale and community survey feedback. Option 1, a simpler MWTX mark, was the top staff pick and was praised by multiple council members for its legibility, flexibility for departmental tiles, and alignment with the Mineral Wells ISD mark.
Council members discussed black‑and‑white reproduction, departmental usage and potential tourism or parks brands that could carry more playful designs. Staff said the rebrand will feed into an updated website (CivicPlus) and communications platforms such as the community alert system (Well Aware / Well Engaged) and a Citizens University program.
A motion to approve Option 1 passed 5–0–1. Staff indicated the rebrand rollout will include brand extensions for parks and tourism and further file/asset delivery to procurement and communications.
