Following an extended public-comment period on the airport beacon, the Granite County commission returned to regular business and approved several administrative items by voice vote.
The commission accepted pay application number 19 (amended to include paired items 19/20) and approved signature of a task order with the State of Montana related to public-health emergency preparedness. The board also reviewed and approved updated solid-waste policies and job descriptions, with staff directed to clean up highlighted clarifications and provide final signature pages.
On personnel, staff reported a delayed drug-test result posted to a secure laboratory site; commissioners agreed to wait for the formal locked report before completing a pending hire. The commission discussed a request from the volunteer ambulance service to remove a problematic device that is starting to fail; staff estimated the retrofit at roughly $3,000–$4,000 and suggested an interfund emergency advance (PILT) subject to a repayment plan in the next fiscal year.
Members discussed a truck-replacement plan tied to an insurance check; staff and commissioners agreed to return with precise accounting entries and paperwork for a future meeting. A motion to accept claims closed the meeting and the commission adjourned.
Actions recorded during the session were procedural and administrative; the commission scheduled several follow-up items for the next agenda, including more detailed documentation on the airport project, personnel paperwork and interfund loan mechanics.
