The Washington Township Board of Education opened its November meeting with an awards presentation honoring the district’s Educational Support Professionals.
Superintendent Doctor Hibbs and building principals introduced honorees from multiple schools, highlighting long service and daily student support. Julie Hop, principal at Whitman Elementary, presented Cynthia Yola, noting her 18 years with the district and ‘‘consistent patience and a calm demeanor’’ working with students who need specialized assistance. Ginny Greer and other elementary principals recognized Regina Nigro for 23 years of service; middle-school principals honored Michelle Flanagan and Shante Clark for work in multiple-disability programs; and high‑school principal Raymond Anderson recognized Barbara Tai and Adrianna De Giacomo for leadership in the main office and the IMC respectively.
Speakers repeatedly described honorees as flexible, reliable and deeply connected to students. Doctor Hibbs told the room, "We don't run without all of you," and the board took a group photo in the lobby before continuing regular business.
The awards segment included brief reminders of district events: the high‑school musical and upcoming state semifinal football game were promoted to the audience. The presentations concluded with encouragement for community attendance at school arts and athletics events.
