Grant County Fiscal Court approves minutes and claims, appoints health board member

"Having read the regular minutes of 11/04/2025, I make a motion that we approve as presented," said Unidentified Speaker 4, who moved approval of the minutes. A second was given, and the court voted by voice to approve the minutes.
On claims, the presiding official introduced approval of disbursements from the general fund, the road fund and the jail fund along with the transfers presented for Nov. 18, 2025. Magistrate Riley moved to approve the claims and transfers; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
The court also considered an appointment to the local board of health. The presiding official asked the court to appoint Patricia Peck Conrad to the Grant County Local Board of Health with an effective date of Jan. 1, 2026 and a term expiring Dec. 31, 2027. Unidentified Speaker 3 moved the appointment; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Each motion was recorded as passed by voice vote with members answering 'aye.' No roll-call tallies with individual yes/no votes were recorded in the meeting transcript.
What’s next: The court noted two remaining vacancies on the local board of health — a physician position and a nurse position — and asked members of the public to recommend qualified county residents before the December meeting.
