Independence Middle School punch list near completion; auditors to correct auditorium screen and paint issues

SiteLogic told the Bethel Park School District board that Independence Middle School Phase 3/4 renovations are largely at punch‑list stage and that most remaining items are being worked through with the architect.
Rochelle, SiteLogic’s representative, estimated punch‑list completion by the end of the calendar year and said she would personally review outstanding items with district leaders. She noted some exterior items remain unresolved and that she will coordinate with district staff to close them out.
Board members raised two specific issues in the auditorium: paint color on two sidewalls and the installed projection screen’s height. Rochelle said the walls were painted the color the contractor was told to apply; the district and contractor need to discuss whether both sidewalls should instead be white. On the screen, she said the screen is the correct size but is mounted too high and will be lowered and adjusted by the contractor after a recent meeting.
Rochelle also reported that the Act 34 roof grant project is complete, Garland has accepted the work, and a 30‑year roof warranty began on Nov. 3.
What happens next: SiteLogic will meet with district staff to work through the remaining punch‑list items and return a timeline for final completion; the contractor is expected to lower the auditorium screen and address paint decisions with district leaders.
