The Andalusia City Council agreed to continue a scheduled hearing on the Econo Lodge business license to Jan. 20, 2026, after city and hotel representatives discussed pending conduct concerns.
Mayor Earl V Johnson said lawyers for the hotel were present and the parties were working on guarantees that certain conduct would be addressed at the location. “We’ve agreed to continue the hearing on this license to January 20 of the new year,” Johnson said. The hearing may be resolved sooner if the parties reach agreement before that date.
No formal vote on the license was taken; the council set the continuation date and will revisit the matter at the stated time or earlier if resolved.
