Councilman Schreiber recounted personal memories of Gypsy, described the social media following and local outpouring of support, and said the dog "brought so many people together." Schreiber urged the council that the memorial would positively engage the community and local animal shelters.
Council members voiced support for memorializing Gypsy and the clerk called a voice vote, with affirmative responses recorded in the transcript. The council also noted a separate memorial already ordered and staff will handle signage and proclamation logistics.
