Dr. Miller presented the district's second annual quality profile dashboard, a broader measure she said is intended to tell the district's story beyond test scores. She described indicators across four areas—teachers and leadership, academic learning, school culture and community—and reviewed metrics including nationally board-certified teachers, AP participation, recent PSSA and Keystone considerations, SAT totals and extracurricular engagement.
Miller highlighted that the district has 28 teachers who are nationally board certified and noted growth in AP students achieving 3+ scores (rising from 86.2% to 91.9% among AP test takers). She summarized PSSA and Keystone testing changes that affect year-to-year comparisons and said the district will have principals present more detailed analyses of building-level results.
On school culture, Miller said the district drills down to student-level responses to identify students who report lower belonging or safety and to design targeted supports such as mentorships and programs. She also discussed attendance declines since the pandemic and emphasized the district's emphasis on extracurriculars—"9 times out of 10, they're talking about extracurriculars"—as central to students' positive experiences.
The presentation was provided for board information; no formal policy change was proposed at the meeting. Dr. Miller invited board members to suggest additional data points to include in future versions of the dashboard.
