Riverside swears in two officers and promotes one to sergeant

Riverside City Council hosted a brief ceremony Monday to swear in two new police officers and to promote an officer to sergeant.
Chief Jackson introduced Kyle Fogle, noting his service background and family; Mayor Williams administered the oath as Fogle pledged to support the constitutions and to faithfully discharge the duties of a police officer. The council then introduced Courtney L. Mackey, a local resident and recent police academy graduate; Mackey likewise took the oath.
Chief Jackson also announced the promotion of Michael Ruckle to sergeant, describing his long service with the Riverside department and his prior roles in training and evidence. Ruckle was sworn in and congratulated by the mayor and council.
The council noted the swearing-in was a reason to pause the regular agenda, and members invited attendees who came for the ceremony to step into the lobby after the formal portion of the meeting.
