On Nov. 18 Jackson Hensley, the district communications lead, briefed the board on a planned migration to ParentSquare for family communications and a new district website and app launching in January.
Hensley said district messages in October were the first sent via ParentSquare and that the platform will replace Remind beginning in the 2026 school year. He highlighted two‑way communication features and event RSVP functionality: a district post about a strategic‑planning survey was sent to 19,112 recipients, and an event invitation that initially showed 76 RSVPs had grown to 129 families signed up at the time of the presentation.
Training for administrators has already begun; teacher training will start in January with a goal of having all teachers trained by May. Hensley said the new website content migration should finish in December with a January launch and that ParentSquare will host the next version of the district site.
Board members asked about how the platform will connect families to transportation and whether it replaces dedicated bus‑tracking apps. Hensley said the district will keep the existing "Here Comes the Bus" service for route tracking but will enable two‑way messaging to reach families on bus routes.
Next steps: staff will continue content migration, complete training, and begin phased family outreach about the new app and communications protocol ahead of the 2026 school year.
