The council opened a public hearing on the ordinance at 6:19 p.m.; the mayor invited anyone wishing to comment to come to the podium and no one spoke. After brief confirmation from staff that there were no recommended changes to the appropriations exhibit, the clerk called the roll. Council members Mister Maxfield, Mister Joseph, Mister Brown, Mister Denning, Miss Fry, Miss Lomax and Mayor Williams each voted "Yes," and the motion carried.
Staff told council the ordinance finalizes current expense and other expenditures for the 2026 fiscal period and that the city may still process budget amendments next year should policy decisions require changes. According to staff, adopting this ordinance meets the statutory deadline to set appropriations before year end.
The council closed the hearing and adopted the ordinance; no amendments were recorded during the meeting. The ordinance will govern the city’s spending allocations for 2026 unless council later approves amendments.
