Board approves BG packets and closeouts for roofing, renovations and security equipment

The Clark County Board of Education approved multiple capital project documents and closeouts, clearing the district to advance roofing and renovation work and to close out older pandemic-era projects.
Staff described BG-2 and BG-3 packets for roofing projects at Baker Intermediate and Robert D. Campbell and for renovations at the district's RDC building, noting the BG-3 forms break out construction categories (HVAC, plumbing) and reflect a construction manager fee now included after Codell came on board. Staff said the documents are required by the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to proceed to bidding and that alternates were included to allow the board to add or drop elements depending on bid results.
The board approved BG-2 and BG-3 for the roof work and the miscellaneous renovations by unanimous vote. Design development packages were also reviewed and the board authorized signatures to move toward construction documents.
The board approved a BG-4 closeout for thermal imaging/security camera purchases made during the pandemic; staff said some systems remain installed at building entrances. The board also approved a BG closeout related to a former ERCO site used for the maintenance building (BG 19-157), a project the district repurposed rather than using for a preschool after site tests.
Motions were made and approved for each packet or closeout with 5–0 vote tallies. Staff said they expect to advertise bidding opportunities in the coming months and return to the board for contract awards and construction approvals.
