Speaker tells Pasco board district failed to preserve complete meeting audio

"The Pasco County School District's failure to comply with their mandatory duty to produce the requested public record and failure to maintain accurate public records is an egregious error," Tory Tiffany told the board during the public‑comment portion of the meeting. Tiffany said she had filed a public‑records request after noticing changes to a statement made by a board speaker and that she was not given the full audio without submitting the request.
Tiffany urged the board to follow its own policy on minutes and records and to provide clearer, easier public access to meeting records. Board staff responded by thanking Tiffany for her comments; no motion or formal action addressing the records request or the specific allegation was taken at the meeting.
The board's public‑comment procedures reiterated that materials provided to the board during public comment become public records and that the district will preserve submitted materials for the public record. Tiffany's remarks were recorded in the meeting minutes and the board did not dispute her characterization during the public‑comment exchange.
