The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 18 unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Susan Jackson for her public‑works service since joining the county in 1998.
The resolution recorded Jackson’s career progression — county surveyor, road and bridge program manager, assistant director, and deputy public works director — and cited achievements including modernization of the survey program, leadership of resurfacing and preservation paving programs, and delivery of numerous infrastructure maintenance and disaster‑response projects. The resolution notes Jackson’s educational credentials and public‑service leadership roles and records an effective retirement date of Feb. 6, 2026.
Jackson spoke briefly, calling her career a privilege and thanking colleagues, staff and family; commissioners praised her service and presented the resolution. The board’s adoption was unanimous.
