The Benton County board approved the wellness committee’s request to repeat the employee wellness day and insurance‑premium incentive program for 2026.
Laurie, speaking for the wellness committee, said 89 employees participated this year and the county earned a 4% insurance discount as a result. The county has a balance of $3,600 dedicated to employee participation incentives; the committee proposed drawing seven $500 prizes and continuing the $20‑per‑month insurance premium credit for participants who complete a physical by the program deadline.
Laurie explained the $100 participation check issued by Voya is mailed directly to employees and that payroll will process other taxable incentives. The board made and seconded a motion to approve the wellness day, the insurance discount incentive, and the prize drawing; members recorded affirmative votes.
After the vote the committee conducted the drawing and named seven winners.
The board also asked staff to encourage department representation at future wellness committee meetings to boost participation.
