Commissioners used the agent’s report to raise community-outreach options after observing repeated instances of unpermitted work. Members proposed distributing a short brochure to realtors, adding a wetlands FAQ or "top questions" page to the town website and placing a brochure in welcome-basket materials given to new residents.
Chair Angela Jamieson summarized a conference presentation and flagged forthcoming training requirements: "As from 2026, training for inland wetland agencies is going to be mandatory," she said, referencing an item discussed at the Connecticut Association conference. Commissioners supported proactive outreach to realtors and suggested staff circulate examples of succinct brochures used by neighboring towns.
Town staff agreed to re-share training links and to follow up about website materials and an outreach plan at a future meeting.
