Board ratifies personnel and bargaining agreements, approves technology and therapy contracts

At its Nov. 20 meeting, the Farmersville Unified School District board approved a series of personnel, fiscal and program items during the consent and action portions of the agenda.
Key votes included: adoption of the agenda with an addendum correcting item 15.1 and moving item 13.2 into closed session (motion by Sabrina Gomez; second John Alvarez; carried 5–0). The board approved the regular meeting minutes for Oct. 28 (recorded vote: 4–0–1 with Sabrina Gomez abstaining). Release warrants were approved for 10/30/2025 ($522,617.31) and 11/06/2025 ($380,776.54).
The board approved multiple donations and field trips for junior-high and high-school programs and ratified routine personnel items. Item 12.7 — a part-time, board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) contract with ProCare Therapy — was approved by motion (Sabrina Gomez) and carried unanimously. Item 12.8 — procurement of T-Mobile hotspot devices to support connectivity — was also approved unanimously.
The board ratified tentative collective-bargaining disclosures for the Farmersville Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association (chapter 518). The public-disclosure statements cited a 2.4% on-schedule increase retroactive to 07/01/2025 and an increase to the insurance cap to $1,436.75 monthly retroactive to 10/01/2025; district staff certified that costs could be met and motions to approve the public-disclosure documents carried.
After closed session the board returned and approved extracurricular coaching personnel listed under item 13.2 (motion by John Alvarez; second by Marissa Zamora; carried 5–0). A facility-use request to allow NJB basketball practices at Farmersville Junior High — presented by assistant coach Jose Emmanuel Perez and supported by district scheduling assurances and insurance — was ratified for no fee. Closed-session items on labor negotiations, public-employee discipline and anticipated litigation were reported as having had no action taken.
