The Town of Nashville council approved its 2026 meeting calendar after staff proposed date adjustments to avoid holiday proximity and approved three budget amendments affecting equipment, insurance and tourism funding.

Lou presented the calendar and the council removed two dates — July 7 and Dec. 16 — to avoid proximity to July 4 and the holidays. Council then voted to approve the calendar.

Tressa presented budget amendment #9 to increase FY funding by $95,477 to cover a valve machine ordered in a prior fiscal year; staff said the machine had been ordered but not received by the end of the prior fiscal year and a return or repair occurred before final receipt. Budget amendment #10 increases revenues and expenditures by $64,122 to cover a 17.4% insurance premium increase after previously unlisted properties and equipment were added to the insurance schedule; staff explained the increase resulted from better fixed‑asset accounting and additional listed items. Budget amendment #11 recognizes $10,000 in funding from the tourist development authority to support the Nashville Farmers Market music series.

All three amendments were approved by voice vote.

Next steps: staff will process the valve‑machine purchase and ensure receipt and functionality, finalize insurance listings, and allocate the $10,000 to the farmers market music series as directed.
