Board authorizes one-year extension for amphitheater management

The Board of Aldermen authorized the mayor to sign a one-year extension of the citys amphitheater management agreement with the visitors bureau. City staff presented the renewal as substantially unchanged from the prior contract and said the $100,000 fee will be paid in 12 equal installments. The manager must book at least eight concerts, plus the citys Fall Fest and Spring Fest, and handle promotions, security and production.
Nick Manley, identified at the meeting as the city attorney, described the extension as "pretty much the same contract with a couple of other [small] revisions" and said the visitors bureau has approved the amended agreement. Alderman Payne moved to authorize the mayor to sign the contract; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
The extension covers a single season and staff said once the contract is executed the visitors bureau will begin booking for 2026. The board did not request further amendments or delay the authorization; operational control and termination provisions remain as in the prior contract.
