The Norfolk County Commission approved multiple payroll and expense warrants at its Oct. 29 meeting, each motion made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Recorded warrant approvals included county payroll of $149,500.61 and two school payroll items (one for $430,466.21 and a smaller second amount of $284.34). Commissioners then approved a county expense warrant totaling $576,495.58.
Staff also reported that the county submitted its FY25 opioid grant expenditure report after reconciling details with the treasurer's office, Maureen Lyden. Staff said the county generally expects receipts from distributor settlement payments on a schedule that extends over multiple years and indicated an annual range of approximately $5,000 to $15,000 in typical annual distributions, noting the county is carrying a balance and will make additional awards in early 2026.
All warrant motions were recorded as approved by voice vote. Commissioners and staff said award letters and related payments will be prepared for upcoming warrants once reconciliation is complete.
